This inclusive, sensory-friendly session is tailored to support your residents — particularly those living with limited mobility — through nostalgic connection, light movement and heartfelt celebration. Our inclusive session brings wartime Britain to life—one smile, one story, one memory at a time. 🔍 What's Included? 🌺 VE Day Nostalgia Quiz Take a trip down memory lane with a lively quiz covering 1940s food, fashion, rationing, music, and entertainment. Includes: Visual props Audio clips of Vera Lynn, Glenn Miller & Churchill Interactive team play with plenty of laughter and reminiscence ✌️ Victory Garden Toss Beanbags disguised as “seed packets” take aim at a make-believe veg patch. Perfect for hand-eye coordination, and even better for sparking memories of “dig for victory.” 🎈Balloon Challenge – Gliding Plane Edition A fun and light seated game: Residents gently launch their aircrafts to nudge balloons across a patriotic runway—no pressure, all smiles. 🎶 🎺 Ring of Celebration Toss rings at treats from yesteryear—treacle tart, jelly, and jam. Each successful throw unlocks a VE Day fact from Britain’s wartime treats. 🥁 Balloon Parade – Move Like It’s VE Day! A gentle, guided exercise session using balloons and ribbon wands.... Set to period-appropriate music and ideal for all mobility levels. 🥫 Tin Can Alley – VE Day Edition Something's stacked, something's hidden... and it’s waiting to be knocked down. Take aim, take a chance — behind each "ration tin" lies a surprise from the past. A forgotten flavour? A wartime whisper? You’ll have to play to uncover the memories... 🎙Name That 40s Tune A musical memory game featuring familiar wartime melodies and jingles. Residents guess the song or artist—and often break into sing along themselves! ❓Crack the Code Roll the dice, reveal a clue, and piece together hidden words whispered by history.
